I was supposed to blog on Friday ...
but I was feeling really lazyy throughout the weekends, so ..
Here I Am (:

So, on Thursday, we Rakan Mudas went on an exploration trip to Gua Tempurung ...
Lemme give you a brief idea of what happened there (:

Journey started at around ... 7.30, around that?
Yeaa .. the journey there was .. rather dull ..
I guess, you could sense the .. uhh .. tension, yes?
The tour guide, by the name of Mr. Lim tried very hard to get us going .. to not much of an avail o.O
I .. was sleeping (:

We had breakie at Tapah Rest Station
Hmm what did I eat there again?
Ahh .. yes .. Currypuffs and cakes (:
Then we set off for Gua Tempurung, located more or less in the southern region of Perak
I was .. pretty nervous ..
Never the adventurous type (:

And thus we entered the cave
and realized we needed to climb a hell lot of steps
and up we climbed
down we descended
and up and down
up and down ..
up and poof !

yeaa .. so i fell .. and i almost knocked Zi Yi down

the climbing part was uber awesome
i scraped my knee a lil
but it was very good (:
The sliding down the rocks part was .. scary
I'm scared of heights, see ..
and let's just say, the cave ain't very bright either ..
but all in all, it went very well (:
the adrenaline rush when i slid down the slope felt amazing when i realized i'm still alive

there was also some crawling through the river
you could hear "WATCH YOUR HEAD"and "WATCH THE ROCK" shouts in three different languages repeatedly as our spirits rose considerably ...
I thought the teamwork was exceptional ..
Don't mind going over there again next year (:

After that, we went for lunch ..

sorry ...
but it was a rather well-known restaurant in this small teeny weeny town ...
mmhm ..

Ahh .. after lunch,
along our journey, we were rather high now ...
Teasing jokes about Hot Chocolates and .. well ..
There were songs too ..
We the boys (occupying the back section of the bus) sang to song after song from my phone
Uhm .. wait .. i think we practically shouted the lyrics (:
the girls didn't join in though ..
they wanted to sleep ..
i don't think they did ..
we were too loud ..
won't be surprised if they felt like slapping me then (:

Ahh .. 3+ in the afternoon, came the HotSpring (:

altho' i can't stand the heat, i'm not sure why
but the swim was absolutely first class (:
it's warm-water-swim for a change, rather unlike the freezing cold water in the swimming pools we're used to

Dreadful Day Out

Same time last year, I was out at OU, searching high and low for a part time job..

I decided .. it is that time of the year again (:
Off I went .. to OU
with high hopes and expectations
only to be let down
once again :/

See, the juice last year, was that I was underage
Fine .. Nothing can be done .. They want 16+ , I was 15 .. no deal
Except for O'Briens, of course, who took me in ..
Man was i grateful (:

So, you ask..
Why am I still looking for a job when I've already got one?
True, but I would really enjoy a new challenge..
Hence, the purpose of the trip to OU today (Besides gettin' a haircut)

In and out of countless shops ..
It is either ..
The pay was lower than O'Briens..
The pay was equal to O'Briens, except no meal provided..
Part-timers not wanted..
16 yo not wanted..
Boy not wanted..
lol

After an hour or so,
Managed to strike something with TGV, GSC, Fila, and a couple more of others..
Point is ..
most of their salary & benefits aren't half as good as O'Briens..

Altho' I believe it was not professionally shot or directed, the storyline is raw, but decent

But
I didn't like it.. Haha.. I think it is beautifully done and all, and Glen & Marketa did well, but .. perhaps i'm not a fan of this "music/performing arts" thingy, y'know?

However, if you are interested in classic-ish musicals and a raw storyline, then give this a shot

See, forgive me for thinking this way, but everytime the word TomCruise appears, my mind flies off to a high-end production with low ratings..
He didn't do THAT badly in Mission Impossible ..
and yet he became widely known as the most over-rated actors of all time (along with Madame Halle Berry)
People seem to have something against him ALL THE TIME
in MI, they criticized his acting
when he hitched up with Katie, they criticized his height
when TomKat got Suri, they criticized his religion pula

But in Valkyrie, I simply can't seem to find any fault with him
He acted the cool guy .. whatzisname? uhh.. Stauffenburg, yes...
Expressionless, cool, calculating...
and he didn't look too bad with one eye (:

yet again, the critics were.. less easily impressed..
As usual, after the premiere (especially in Germany) Tom was branded a joke ..

Physics Tuition today was.. mmhm.. for a better word.. cooler than usual
She taught the Refraction of Light
And she had those.. mirror blocks, if you know what i mean
so .. lights turned off, in the darkness
she illuminated us with some pretty fascinating sight
She had this red spotlight thingy which she used to .. uhh .. shine towards the glass blocks
all sorts of shape punya glass blocks
and well .. it showed us the refraction and reflections
looked really cool in the dark (:
was busy .. admiring the glowing red LED that i'm not too sure if i understood what she taught
but .. oh well

These couple of days, I've experienced some firsts.

Cousin came over, from Sarawak where he's working as a DOCTOR
spent priceless time with him, as I rarely see him nowadays o.O
lmao

Went to Restoran Murni (:
okayy give me some stick if you want, but it IS my first time there :/
and I've heard some awesome stuff about 'em :D

Let me tell you, though ..
at 12.00am, it's PACKED with people..
more than 50 tables, with an average of 4 pax per table..
(50 x 4 = 200)
Over 200 people, hanging out there at midnight
THAT, says it all about Murni (:

They serve absolutely EVERYTHING
Chinese, Indian, Malay, Western ..
You name it, they've got it :D

See, I'm this pampered 16 year old who travels around the city in the luxury of his parents' car

ONE month to Finals :/
The aim was to finish a chapter of History per day (as of yesterday)
however, the result was..dreadful
I DID ONLY 5 PAGES FOR THE DURATION OF YESTERDAY & TODAY

This studying thing ain't working out..
It's not near enough to the exam to make me panic and start studying diligently like all good boys should..

Should I be worried?

Truth be told, I'm not exactly coping very well..
History's as bad as ever (a C for mid-term >.<)
Chemistry..hate it..suck at it ..
Biology..go to hell =.="

I WANNA BE A DOCTOR, BUT I SUCK AT BIOLOGY
I mean, COME ON, who wants to learn about how an Amoeba or Paramecium move..
We can't even see them for Merlin's sake..

Had Vegetarian for dinner...

Alright..This is kinda hard to explain..mmhm..

So I went to a Vegetarian Restaurant to eat MEAT..

uhm..MEAT made of Flour & Vegetables..

Well..I can assure you carnivores out there, that the Vegetarian Meat is wayy better than some ORIGINAL Meat product served at certain high-end restaurants..

Orders : Curry Mutton, some Abalone thingy, Thai Style Chicken With Lemongrass

Curry Mutton was awesomeee (:

Abalone-y was greatt (:

Chicken was so-so :/

But all in all, the taste was above expectations for food made of simple vegetables..oh..and flour, of course..

FLOUR indeed..

After settling down with some Ocha, off we went to get some FOOD :D
And what a surprise I got ...
See, I've always thought Shogun was a JAPANESE buffet restaurant..
uh-uh it appears I was wrong..
Shogun has a W-I-D-E range of choices...
and I mean W-I-D-E in BOLD CAPITAL LETTERS
From Tempura to Sushi, Fried Rice to Spaghetti, Shark's Fin to Miso Soup, Tomyam in Thai Style to Salads, Hong Kong Dim Sum to Beijing Peking Duck, Nescafe to Ginseng Tea, Ice-creams to Cakes & Puddings ...
You name it, they've got it..
So..this is supposed to be GOOD, right?

err...NOPE...not good..
so..on with the story, after delightfully taking 3 plates full of stuff and a cup of Iced Lemon Tea, I sat down and started savouring my meal
mmhm..just one word...
the food was...
BAD

I don't know what to say..but the taste I was looking for just ain't there..
Alright FINE the Teriyaki Chicken was okayy..but that's about it..
OH WELL ALRIGHT the Nescafe and Chocolate Cake were pretty good ..
but Seriously?
this place is packed with people day in day out, I'd expect something wayy better than this :/

The pricing is ... I guess..value for money as you get quite a variety of food choices..
For Monday to Friday, Lunch is at RM43++(with a 35% discount) ; Dinner is at RM58++(with a 30% discount)
Weekends, Lunch is at RM48++ ; Dinner is at RM60++ [no discount]

Had Sutra for lunch..

They had this Set Lunch Promo..Buy 1 set, get another set free (:

Order : Thai Style Fried Chicken, Kangkung Belacan, Omelet & Steam Fragrance Rice

The food was good, albeit it came in horrendously small portions..Not surprising though, as it is EXTREMELY RARE that you see a "Buy 1 Free 1" Promo in a Fine Dining Cuisine :D

Chicken tasted awesome..A tad bit hard and a serious lack of MEAT, but great nonetheless..

Kangkung was..a 'lil..extraordinary..you'd need to try it for yourself..it just..tasted different from our run-of-the-mill kangkung belacan.

Pre-meal, we were served with some keropok appetizer thingy..

Tasted good and crispy (:

Ahh..let's talk about their Ice Water..

As 'tho it is now a trend to place lemon slices in ice water to..uhh..freshen things up,

DON'T LAH PUT UNTIL IT TASTES LIKE LEMON WATER !

Mmhm, providing you can ignore the Food Portion and icky Ice Water, Sutra definitely gets my thumbs-up :D

Go try it! But beware, without the Lunch Promo, their food prices would reduce your wallet to feathers xP

Its Critics Review and U.S. Box Office trashed Harry Potter 6 & G.I. Joe...

Question is..does it live up to its "billing" as (As I've mentioned in my earlier post)

BEST MOVIE OF THE YEAR / BEST EVER DISNEY PIXAR MOVIE?

Sorry to disappoint, folks, but the answer is a categorical NO ...

Best Movie Of The Year..perhaps, perhaps..But do note, that the movies produced this year have been abysmal and wayyy below average :/

Transformers, HP6 ... None of 'em rocked my socks off..in fact, they didn't even feel the fabric of my sock..

Neway, UP - Best Ever Disney Pixar Movie?

Bug's Life, Finding Nemo, Ratatouille were wayy better o.O

The storyline of UP ain't bad..

It's not just a flying-away-in-a-house-magically-lifted-by-balloons thingy

Somehow somewhat it contains hidden lessons, about loyalty, determination, friendship, ambition ... as all Pixar movies do (:

No, it's not that..

The idea was good..

Unfortunately, the execution wasn't..

I was left wondering, at the end, what were the 3-D Glasses (which cost 5 bucks each, mind you!) for..

The graphics weren't at all amazing

Great sceneries, promised by 3-D Tech, were nowhere to be seen..

The movie itself ain't bad, but my experience was defo ruined by the pre-movie hype..

Definitely not a bad movie (it's Pixar, duh!), but certainly over-rated

Recommendation : Go ahead..but 3-D is definitely not recommended
